My Approach to music

I am a fan of Leitmotifs. Whether they emphasise characters in film, areas in a video game or any reoccurring element.

My primary workflow consists of working in Cubase, making use of various orchestral samples. Usually my starting point is melodic. Aside from this i like working with unusual signatures such as 7/8 while experimenting with alternative chords. My primary instrument is the piano and has been for years. For this reason i like to compose outside the constraints of my habits, sometimes forging the ideas in my head, so as to get away from my usual pitfalls.

Composition

When it comes to Film compositions I feel the melody has staled in recent years, due to electronic trends that put emphasis on sound design. I aspire to find a combination of the conservative orchestra and the modern electronic sound. I therefore tend to draw a lot of inspiration from composers like Joe Hasaishi, Ramin Djawadi, J.S Bach & ludwig Göransson.

Game Audio

I personally think that we have only scratched the surface of possibilities in Video Game Composition. The idea of leitmotifs can be expressed everywhere in these vast experiences. Combine these with the modern technology of audio engines like WWise, and you’re in for it.

I composed orchestral music for film and video games through freelance projects. This includes short films, game jams and freelance projects such as the video game “Colere”. Using WWise for Horizontal and Vertical Composition.

In game audio i have experience working with the internal engine of Unity, Godot and meta sound in Unreal engine 5. But most of my experience comes from working in WWise.

Music Production

I have produced music in several areas focusing on Jazz, Classical & Fusion. This music is sometimes in cooperation with professional musicians, but mainly produced by my own efforts. I am versatile in using both Cubase & Pro Tools.
